XII = 9th plate which has captions in German, and the plant plate with the Latin binomial). The first plate (no. I) is dated 1831 and was published in that year or shortly thereafter. The fourth plate (no. V): Coupes de l'isle de Teneriffa was apparently issued with the text volume and is found there e.g. in the GOET-UB, GOET-UBG and MH-HL copies. Kayser, Pritzel and Rehder (in Bradley Bibliogr.) also describe such copies, and so do two contemporary reviews. However, the explanation is only provided in the atlas volume. No information is available whether the 2 states of the text of the atlas volume were published subsequently of concurrently. Also two states of the last 4 unnumbered pages at the end of the text vol. (corrections and additions, 9th-12th unnumb. p.) are known: The original state (state 1) is present in the GOET-UBG and O2NB copies, state 2 occurs in the B-SB and WUB copies; the latter differs in having on the last page (12th unnumb. p.) an addition to p. 406, line 33 which results in a different arrangement of the type on all 4 pages. The copy at B-SB has the correction sheet loosely added to the otherwise bound volume, probably an indication that the second state was published somewhat later.
